Thunderbow Deployment Bag

Thunderbow Deployment Bag was manufactured by Security Parachute Company for Para-Commanders (PC). PCs manufactured by Pioneer came with a sleeve as the deployment device.

bag at start of deployment The bag stages deployment of the parachute. The canopy is accordian folded into the bag and the lines are stowed on the outside of the bag.

When the parachute deploys, the lines unstow first, under tension and then the canopy is pulled from the bag and inflates.

Openings are more orderly and have lower snatch forces. This reduces the chances of malfunctions.

The Thunderbow deployment bag, for PCs, by Security worked in the following way:

  1. Pilot chute is attached directly to the crown/roof lines.
  2. The crown/roof lines are extended before the bag lifts out of the pack tray.
  3. Suspension lines deploy from separate stowage.
  4. Canopy is extracted from an accordian folding, not a pillow type stuffing of the canopy.
  5. The bag is forced up to the base of the pilot chute after the canopy inflates.
  6. The pilot chute and bag rest on the apex of the canopy, not inside modifications.
  7. the bag was made from double-walled heavy cotton, reinforced with nylon tape.
  8. Retail Cost: $29.75
